The Challenge

For an international news organization broadcasting eight channels to more than 270 million households in over 140 countries around the clock, finding the right talent at the right time was a challenge. All while trying to remain one of the top news organizations in the world. The organization came to TeamPeople with the need to streamline workflows and find highly skilled staff. They were looking for highly skilled camera crews, video editors, master controls, IT specialists, and media management to run the 24-hour network. Time, people, and resources were limited and the ability to accomplish this on their own was a losing battle.

The SOLUTION

TeamPeople first met with the network’s operational management team to assess how the current staff was being utilized on a daily basis. This assessment phase led to the design of a custom managed services solution that would strategically organize the current team and identify new positions that would create better internal infrastructure.

TeamPeople would work to recruit, schedule, confirm and establish fair market pay rates for the required positions as well as curate a roster of freelance talent to use surge support for breaking news. By leveraging our vetted database of over 90,000 media professionals, we had a head start in sourcing the right people to join this team. The reality was, our team would be covering breaking news all over the world… all the time. This meant we needed to move fast without compromising on the quality of work.

The Results

With TeamPeople as the employer of record, our managed services plan allowed us to find the right people for each position, streamline workflows, train the team. Night and day teams were established with Sat-Desk Coordinators in London, Washington DC, and Doha to ensure full media coverage. TeamPeople also took over management of the international visa process to ensure all legal compliance obligations were met, a considerable time-saver for the client.

TeamPeople recruited, hired, and onboarded 60 full-time employees and have continued to grow the department to over 110 employees.
