SPOTLIGHT NEWSLETTER
Letter from Leadership
Thanks for reading! For those new to the company, the Spotlight is TeamPeople’s employee newsletter, sharing good news, recognition, and opening the doors of communication.
Our management team has been hearing from you and seeing that work has been booming. As our clients need more creative concepts, more video, more events, more designs, more solutions – it’s harder to prioritize and in some cases to find meaning in your work. We are all trying to keep up, and at the same time wanting to be sure how we’re spending our time is valued by others and meaningful to us.
The outpouring of Kudos noted below and on our Slack channel is a small representation of the tremendous thanks that come through for our employees and freelancers every day. Appreciation is abounding from client stakeholders and we hope you feel your talents are recognized.
When it comes to finding meaning in the daily grind, that is different for each of us. I’m drawn to the missions of our NGO clients, the creative work inspired by our agency artists and professional photographers, the powerful storytelling by journalists and production, and the expert attention to strategy and detail by our Coordinators, Accountants and PMs. Thanks to our managers who are actively helping people find jobs, coaching for personal growth, and leading through challenging times. Thank you for choosing to work with us.

Contract News & Updates
growth to new platforms
tv one
Michelle Nowell is the Manager of Production Facility Operations & Content Management at TV One. She is responsible for managing workflows in the production facility ensuring programs and promos are delivered for broadcast.
With the growth of streaming and on demand platforms, she has the opportunity to work on some exciting projects. In the last six months, they’ve delivered over 200 shows to support the launch of Urban One TV in Columbus, OH and 120 shows for TubiTV, a streaming service offering free TV series and movies.
TV One archive content is now also available on the TV One app as part of TV One Rewind. Michelle and the Production Facilities team worked hard to prep and edit over 100 shows for this project. Michelle adds “It’s been a very busy few months and I am so proud of the team and everything we have accomplished.”
76th Annual un general assembly
United Nations
Our team at UN working hard during General Assembly. We created a high-level studio and control room perfect for utilizing our virtual services/TeamStream. They just launched and in the first day already garnered over a million views. We produced segments featuring The Queen of The Netherlands, Malala, and more. Pictured above is the Dutch, UN, and TeamPeople teams working together. Front and center is Annemarie Hou, who works directly with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
international news channel launch approaching
volant
The Volant Media contract has a growing number of staff, ranging from Multimedia Journalists, Presenters and Editors, through to Engineers and a host of other technical disciplines necessary to deliver live news broadcasts.
Volant Media is “uncovering the stories that inspire independent views” and it seeks to deliver factual, objective news to people in countries where there isn’t a free press. Its primary audience is the people of Farsi speaking nations and the Farsi diaspora around the world, with a global audience of approximately 16 million accessed via 11 satellite platforms.
They have been delivering news since 2017 via bureaus in London, Paris and now Washington DC. The original plan for the DC office was to go-live with its primary news channel, Iran International, in mid-October and follow this with its new channel Afghanistan International, in late December; however, events in Afghanistan over the past two months demanded a major rethink. Now both channels go live simultaneously on October 16.
Once the DC studio goes live, they will split the 24-hour day with the London bureau. Afghanistan International will air from 07:30EST to 15:00EST after which, Iran International will come on air. This means that Iran International’s Morning Show, that is aired for the audience in Tehran who are 7 hours and 30 minutes ahead of us, will go out at around 23:00EST. The handover to London will occur at around 01:30EST and it repeats with new information coming from the news desk.
New staff are joining almost daily as we create a truly international team, with individuals hailing from around the world: Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Great Britain, and more. As the team speeds to launch, we’re proud to be supporting this team focused on information-sharing and unbiased journalism.

KUDOS tO YOU!
"Jake Brought is making an incredible impact on the team and we’re so lucky to have him. At just 3 months in, he’s KILLING it on multiple high profile, complicated campaigns and journeys…
Cristina Garcia goes above and beyond every day and has the most amazing can-do attitude. Filling in on campaigns (and doing an amazing job), while also supporting .com Corporate and .com events/virtual events. Also managing 3 incredibly high-profile events. She’s truly impressive!"
- Meg S.

Just wanted to commend Lakeisha Kitt for her excellent work in supporting an in house workshop for the Chief Risk Office. We had a mix of in house and online participants and was a pilot for how the hybrid model could work. Lakeisha did an excellent job. She was extremely proactive and would quickly come out to support staff who were having problems. We received great feedback that the technology worked seamlessly and those virtual felt just as included as those in person- this reflects what a great job Lakeisha did. - Rachel Peters

TeamPeople's DEI Committee
One of the ways TeamPeople has diversified our freelance spend is to encourage formal and self-certification for LQBTQ+ owned, women owned, veteran owned, and minority owned businesses. Each of our teams engage with many freelancers and small companies each year. We are building to ensure even wider representation to these rosters. By completing the certification form, this helps us to track and report spend, which we are glad to report is often in the 30% - 50% range. We would like to be able to set new targets and use data to inform our decisions to take action. If your projects require regular freelancers or new freelancers whose services we should engage, please encourage them to complete this optional form as part of their onboarding packet.
